On 10 January 2024, GenderCollab organised a one-day in-person Roundtable in New Delhi on ‘Gender Champions in Health Systems’ to share learnings and build a community of practice. The key objective was to discuss the purpose and potential of building a community of practice of Gender Champions within the health system.

The document below provides an overview of the participants— practitioners operating at the intersection of gender and health, and their insights from championing initiatives— such as gender-intentional curricula in medical colleges, working with governments on gender-sensitive interventions, and advancing gender equity in research and capacity building. The group exchanged success stories and challenges, explored the feasibility and benefits of building a community of practice, and discussed immediate next steps.
